Easy Green Chile Sauce

The Truck Farm - Tuesday, January 17, 2012

I was going to post a recipe for green chile sauce here that had been culled from hours of research on the internet so as to provide you all with the best possible recipe out there.  Then looking at most of the recipes I realized that they take upwards of an hour and usually involve ovens and blenders and saucepans.  So instead, how about the recipe for what we use in our house for when we want to make green chile sauce.

Easy Green Chile Sauce

1 Jar Just Plain Green Chile                                                                                                                        1 Can Cream of Chicken soup                                                                                                                Open jar and empty it into a large mixing bowl.  Open can and empty into the same bowl, if you use a different bowl it won't work at all. Mix.

You can add garlic or salt or whatever you want to get the taste right for you, but this is a great way to have a base to start from and it takes less than five minutes.  Ten if you have to hunt for the can opener. You can then use this recipe on anything from Green Enchiladas to Green Chile Smothered Burritos.                                                                                                                                                        Jim Hawman

I add a little water or milk to thin out the soup, and you can also use cream of mushroom soup. One company even makes cream of chicken and mushroom soup... I know Jim doesn't like onions, but a little onion will also add to the flavor...
